Excision and Sullivan King return to their roots with metal and acoustic covers of”Wake Up” and”Gold.”
Excision along with Sullivan King went back to their roots with the release of the re-rocked variations of their track”Wake Up” along with the Illenium collaboration,”Gold.” Published under the name Apex: Re Rocked, both tracks are available now on SoundCloud.
The acoustic of”Wake Up” reveals the two dubstep giants in rare type. Due to the nature of this cover, there is no overwhelming bass or guitar as supporters of the duo are utilized to, but rather, the emphasis is set on Sullivan King’s (real name Keaton Prescott) vocal offerings.
The second of this two remixes turns things . Prescott’s cover of”Gold” includes thumping guitar chords within his energetic metallic vocals. Seemingly created for fans of the genres, the cover is the invention for people who got to bass through heavy metal.
Both performers are slated to perform at each of Excision’s (real name Jeff Abel) festivals this summer. The first of those two festivals, Bass Canyon, occurs August 23rd-25th at The Gorge Amphitheatre in George, Washington while the second of this pair, Lost Lands, takes place September 27th-29th in Legend Valley at Thornville, Ohio.
